Lydia Scott, Director of CRTI, Chicago Region Trees Initiative, spoke about our local ecosystems and what we need to do to restore the oaks, and other native trees.

Two of our members recorded a session for U-46 (Elgin) for the National Biodiversity Teach in, which is disseminated nationally to students in K-12.  It was on the basics of native landscaping.

Two of our members presented the basics of native gardening as well as the areas around Elgin at which work has been completed.

A history of the witness tree and a visit to one at the nature center.

Had a table at an Earth Day event.

Tour of members' Steve and June Keibler of restored prairie and woodlands

This was a presentation at the request of the Isaac Walton League to their members. 

This was the pick-up for the members' pre-order for plants.

Member Sue Bohne and steward at Trout Park led a spring wildflower walk.

Tours of 2 members' gardens

A history of soil from looking at glacial history.  Soil mapping and what it means for restoration and native plants.

Prairie Fest is organized by Campton Township Open Space.  We had a table there.

The city of St. Charles re-meandered a stream to prevent ongoing flooding.  This was a tour of the project.

All up and down the Fox River, there were events about cleaning the Fox River.  We had a table in Algonquin. 

This was our fall plant sale.  People had to order online from specified offerings and picked them up at the forest preserve.

All members and friends were invited to the home of president Kim Haag to tour the fall garden, meet other Wild Ones members, have food and talk plants.  We raffled off plants too.

This was our holiday party and election of officers.
