Posted by & filed under Meeting.

For our October 22, 2015 meeting, Ronald Blaukamp presents “Native bees and the various species and identifiers: Is it a bee, a fly, a wasp?” Learn about the various species of pollinators including native bees and what do they need as habitat and forage. Ronald will cover the highlights of the differences between honeybees and blue orchard bees. Blue orchard bees are representative of all other species. He will discuss the habitat needs of native bees and how both gardeners and non-gardeners can provide this habitat. Doing so on our home properties can increase the pollination of food crops and native plants and local biodiversity. Details will be provided on caring for Mason Bees (Orchard Bees).
